A tribute to Safiyah Buhkari from a soldier's heart! -- A message from PP/POW Seth Hayes
Submitted by ant on Sun, 2007-03-25 22:52.
On this day, March 30, 2007, we've come together to celebrate the life
and courage of one of our heroes. Our comrade and friend, Safiyah
Buhkari. As a soldier in the Black Panther Party she fought with courage
and fortitude to see her vision of the People's dream come true. As a
soldier in the same army I came to know and respect her skills and
services with love, joy and high expectations.
From her jail cell in Gouchland, VA, many of us benefited from her
stories and directions. She fought extremely hard to return back to the

Seth's Statement on Parole Denial
Submitted by ant on Tue, 2006-08-08 13:26.July 28, 2006
Greetings,
I am writing to thank you for your support, love and concern in my bid for release at my fifth parole board appearance. Sadly, release wasn't granted. Instead I've received once again, an additional two-year hit for the fifth time, "due to the seriousness of the crime, release at this time would undermine respect for the law." This is a standard, pat answer based upon political views (the governor continually insists that violent felony offenders should not receive parole) rather then the application of the law. We are going to appeal.
Naturally that brings up the need for your continued support. You have been strong for me over this difficult period and I ask you for that support and commitment awhile longer.
The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with the First Step
Submitted by ant on Sat, 2006-08-05 08:18.A Statement from Robert Seth Hayes - May 2006
And so my journey into the pages of history began with my first step, with my accumulated thoughts of righteousness and unity. As a young man I often found myself dreaming of a utopian society without being aware of what that term meant. I knew I wanted a society free of stress and poverty, crime and police occupation. I'd often observed older people's glances and postures of negativity whenever representatives of authority rode by. Why was that? Why were the police both feared and hated so much ? I had no answers then but I saw the impacts nonetheless.
February 1, 2006 Statement from Political Prisoner Robert Seth Hayes on Sonny Carson
Submitted by ant on Tue, 2006-03-28 17:55.February 1, 2006 Statement from Political Prisoner Robert Seth Hayes Honoring the 20th Anniversary of the Black Men's Movement and its Founder, Sonny Baba Abubadika Carson.
Revolutionary greetings, brothers and sisters,
My name is Robert Seth Hayes, African freedom fighter, former member of the Black Panther party, captured soldier of the Black liberation Army, a political prisoner and a prisoner of war for 32 years and counting.
I extend my love and respect to all of you on this, the 20th anniversary of the Black Men's Movement. The Black Men's Movement was established in 1986 as a formidable force determined to reclaim control of our streets through confrontation against the ravages of crack cocaine on our families and communities. Today, we honor those heroic men and women who confronted the obstacles created to destroy community empowerment. We are all too familiar with the destructive aspects of drugs infiltrated into our communities and how family and property became products of dysfunction. Had the Black Men's Movement not stepped forward, one can only imagine the state of despair we'd be living in today. From those depths of struggle, one emerged who we hail and honor here today. Baba Abubadika, Sonny Carson.

Submitted by ant on Sun, 2006-02-26 20:07.I would like to send my revolutionary greetings to the Palestinian comrades who have arrived on the shores of America to educate us and to continue uplifting our spirits. I would like to extend special greetings to the crew of Adameer and to the brothers and sisters of Sumoud who have brought this presentation to us. My name is Robert Seth Hayes. I'm a former member of the Black Panther Party and a captured and convicted soldier of the Black Liberation Army. I am one of New York State's many political prisoners. I understand that Adameer is now touring North America on its tour and education process to bring us awareness of the situation of political prisoners in Palestine. It's a beautiful opportunity for us to grow and learn and I'm very appreciative of it.
May 30th, 2005 Statement by Seth about Political Prisoners
Submitted by ant on Sun, 2006-02-26 19:55."Political prisoners are the people that said listen, I'm going to sacrifice myself so the message will get clear to you. I'm standing here with a sign in my hand arguing with the authorities. I have no gun, I have no rifle, I have no dog, I have no chains or handcuffs. I'm standing here as a human being, as a citizen telling you something and you have all this power to suppress me. If you do, you will make a statement to the masses that are looking on today. We've gotten away from that, we’ve forgotten who these people are that call themselves political prisoners and the sacrifices that they've made. If we don't recognize the sacrifices made by those who've come before us, then we deny our history, our culture, our morals. If we deny all of that we redefine ourselves as something that we haven't even earned, because we haven't recognized who we are.
June 29th 2003 Statement from Seth
Submitted by ant on Sat, 2006-02-25 02:26.Revolutionary Greetings Everyone!
I take this opportunity to address all of you in this fashion to save time and conserve material and energy for tomorrow's fight. In this missive I wish to notify you that I have "relinquished" my right to my appeal to the Division of Parole from my last parole appearance where I received a two year hit. I chose to end my appeal attempt which expires tomorrow, June 30th. Because I am scheduled to appear before the parole board again in July of 2004. Entering legal battle at this time can only result in revealing those tactics relied upon for 2004 in the event I am denied.
